National Disaster Preparedness Month, observed every September, is a nationwide initiative designed to promote family and community disaster planning. Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the month emphasizes the importance of being prepared for various emergencies, such as natural disasters, pandemics, and other crises. Through educational campaigns, workshops, and community events, it aims to encourage individuals and organizations to take proactive steps to ensure safety and resilience in the face of potential disasters. We are excited to announce the upcoming Disaster Preparedness and Resiliency Fair, organized by the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team, as part of National Preparedness Month. This event will be held on September 28, 2024 9am-2:00pm at the Bastrop County Community Center, 15 American Legion Drive, Bastrop, TX. We are reaching out to invite you to participate in this important event either as a presenter or by hosting a booth. This is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise, resources, and services with the community, and to promote awareness and preparedness for various types of disasters. Your participation will help educate and empower residents, ensuring they are better equipped to handle emergencies. We believe your involvement will greatly enhance the quality and impact of the fair. If you are interested in participating, please let us know by end of business August 15, 2024. We are happy to provide additional details and answer any questions you may have. Thank you for considering this opportunity to support our community's preparedness and resiliency efforts. We look forward to the possibility of your involvement.
