El Camino Real de los Tejas has left a legacy as long as it is fascinating. Through the centuries people of all walks of life have made their way across Texas down into Mexico on this iconic road including conquistadores, pioneers, revolutionaries, armies and modern commuters! This year marks the 20th anniversary of the "King's Road" being a National Historic Trail. Learn more about the incredible history behind the Royal Road of Texas. Guest speakers include: Steven Gonzales, executive director of El Camino Real National Historic Trail Association Ken Kesselus, local Bastrop County Historian Ron Ramirez, local Bastrop County Historian and former mayor of Elgin The event is free and open to the public!
