In its second year, this “USO styled event” celebrates the cultural heritage of a bygone era of Big Band Music, Swing Dance and Live Entertainment for Armed Forces. The Red White and You Dance is held the Saturday after Independence Day, and is combined with a weekend of celebratory activities in Bastrop, Texas. Live music entertainment by The Tony Harrison Band, is a crowd pleaser with it’s nine piece “Big Band” sound and carefully chosen period music spanning the decades. Hosted by the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center, in a military themed atmosphere, attendees are encouraged to dress in period Swing Dance attire to add to the fun. The evening will include Swing Dance Lessons, a Vintage Dress Contest, On-Site Concessions, and 3 hours of live music to fill the dance floor! Come early to eat American Flare, with Doors opening at 5:30pm. Professional Dancers will be on-hand to help teach you dance moves, starting at 6:15pm. Live Music by The Tony Harrison Band kicks off at 7:00pm and goes until 10:00pm. The 2019 Red White and You Dance promises a fun filled night in historical Downtown Bastrop! Make it a weekend in Beautiful Bastrop…Weekend activities begin Thursday, July 4th with The Farm Street Opry.
