    Job Description
    POSITION OVERVIEW
                  
    The Chamber Business Manager is responsible for the professional day-to-day operations of the Chamber office and coordinates the Resource and Hospitality Committees. This individual is responsible for financial records, reports for the Board, and the invoicing and billing of members. He or she will also assist other staff in generating non-dues revenue through designated programs as directed by the President/CEO.
     
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
     
    Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software, Microsoft office, ability to prepare and manage financial records, and basic knowledge of computers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage several task simultaneously, and strong organizational skills. Able to manage personal time and coordinate volunteers.  Work effectively with members, committees and fellow staff.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES
    • Receives and records check, card and cash transactions to make daily deposits of income from membership investments and sponsorships.
    • Compiles federal, state tax reports.
    • Reconciles bank and credit card accounts, noting and reporting any discrepancies.
    • Processes monthly billing of membership investments and sponsorships.
    • Maintains accounts payable.
    • Processes new members and cancellations in coordination with Membership & Sales Manager.
    • Keeps accounts receivable in check per Chamber Bylaws.
    • Maintains current member information within designated systems.
    • Provides financial record to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee or other committees as deemed necessary by the President/CEO.
    • Assists with all Chamber events and programs by providing for a professional registration and communication process and by assisting in setup/takedown duties.
    • Acts as staff liaison to the Hospitality Committees, providing assistance to and maintaining regular communication with these Committee.
    • Maintains an orderly filing system of documents, files and reports, ensuring proper accessibility for all staff.
    • Welcomes members, visitors and tourist in the office and assists with their needs in a friendly and professional matter.
    • Other duties as assigned by President/CEO.

    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Operate office equipment, including computers and database software.
    • Keep electronic files updated and in the network for staff to access.
    • Keep office in presentable, uncluttered fashion.
    • Primary telephone responder in the office.
    • First point of contact for visitors to the Chamber
    • Have a working knowledge of all areas of the chamber including office procedures, the Strategic Plan and Program of Work.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    College Degree in Business or Accounting discipline, or High School Diploma together with relevant Office Management experience of 3 years or greater.
    Quickbooks Certification Training is a plus.
    An active driver’s license, as this position does require travel to local places of business.
    Use of personal vehicle may be required. 
     
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
    Set up and tear down at Chamber events.
    The position requires frequent walking, standing, and involves sitting at a desk or in car.
    Use of a desktop computers.
    Pushing and pulling of file cabinet drawers and occasional but minimal overhead lift.
     
    SALARY AND BENEFITS
